Franco Harris works for Obama in PA

Though most of the buzz today is about the endorsement of Senator Obama by Senator Bob Casey, for football fans in PA, what may have more significance is his endorsement by legendary
Franco Harris; Hall of Famer, former Pittsburgh Steeler & Nittany Lion, known thoughout the football world for the "Immaculate Reception".

Franco shares a bi-racial heritage with Barack. His African-American father, met his Italian mother in Italy at the end of World War II.

see video interview with Harris on KDKA:

Also on board the Obama bus is Jay Paterno, QB coach at Penn State, son of the legendary Joe Paterno.

... "garlic-nosed Italians" comment.

Someone here should forward it to him immediately.

LOL - I thought it was "gallic nose" ;)

When I lived in PA,  Franco was claimed by Italian's, African-American's, and the Irish dubbed him "Frank O'Hara".

Similar to recent parades in PA for Barry O'Bama

Couple of things (2.00 / 1)

#1 May be some friction in the Paterno camp as Joe and Scott (brother of Jay) are conservative Republicans. Joe is a friend of H.W. Bush. Good for Jay.

#2 Franco Harris looks awful good for being in his late 50's.

#3 That linked newscast is brutal towards HRC. Flat out says she was caught in a big lie about Bosnia. The anchor said it a couple times. That sniper/Bosnia thing is going to damage HRC in PA.

Yep Vets are not too happy (2.00 / 1)

One of the greatest sins to veterans is someone falsely claiming to have been in combat.

I'm surprised to hear that a Paterno is supporting Obama.  My impression was that the whole family were rock-ribbed republicans...

the Paterno's (none / 0)

They are staunch Repubs - but young Jay isn't.  Which makes it even more interesting.

We all admired Franco (none / 0)

Even when he was shredding the defense of our teams.  Hopefully, he can help put us over the goal line!

Jay Paterno supporting Obama (2.00 / 1)

I finally have a reason to like Jay.
